Challenges for human exposure assessment to 5G massive MIMO base stations: a follow-up study

This paper deals with human exposure measurements to 5G massive-MIMO base stations at maximum traffic load and, as a follow-up of our BioEM2019 paper, contains latest findings and results. We have optimized our measurement device settings concerning resolution and video bandwidth. Furthermore, we have improved our measurement correction algorithms; in detail, we have replaced the measurement point-independent gain extrapolation factor by a gain correction depending on traffic and broadcast beam pattern as well as orientation towards the base station, specific for each measurement point. The verification of this optimized measurement procedure shows significant improvements compared with our previous results presented at BioEM2019.
