INVESTIGATION ON TOUGH RESIN FABRICATED BY LOW-COST SLA PRINTERS
The purpose of this study was to determine the accuracy, the flexural strength, the flexural modulus, and the impact of petrol on specimens made of Tough Resin and fabricated by low-cost SLA printers.Formlabs Form 2 and Anycubic Photon Mono M5S printers were considered in this work.Samples fabricated by Anycubic system were more accurate compared with those manufactured by Formlabs printer. These SLA printers can produce an acceptable level of accuracy. This study demonstrates that the Tough Resin is not suitable to develop SLA parts which will be in contact with petrol because their structure will be significantly affected.Compared with Anycubic samples, the samples manufactured with Formlabs machine have an increased flexural strength with 45%, up to 66 MPa.This value is similar to other Formlabs studies, but we could reduce the post-cured time to 60 minutes. The post-cure treatment applied on Formlabs samples made of Tough 2000 Resin modify the flexural modulus, making them more flexible than reported in other studies where the same material and machine was used. These processes can be applied to design and fabricate new products for mass customization in different industrial fields.
