Add Health as a Resource for the Science of the Exposome: Structural Racism Measures Release 1

The dataset described in this user guide is a first release of structural racism measures, which collectively, aim to reflect the interconnection of institutions, laws, practices, and ideologies based on historically rooted relations of domination and subordination that organize racialized groups in a hierarchical structure. This first release consists of a rich set of structural racism indicators across historical and cultural domains at varying geographic levels (state, county). The measures described in this guide were assembled, cleaned, and merged to Add Health’s core and biological data by Taylor Hargrove, Chantel Martin, Brian Frizzelle, and Alena Sorensen D’Alessio under the direction of Robert A. Hummer, at the Carolina Population Center (CPC) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
