Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana
The Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) was introduced in India with the aim of fostering financial inclusion and supporting small and micro enterprises through the provision of collateral- free loans. This research paper delves into the multifaceted aspects of the PMMY, examining its inception, objectives, and the effectiveness of its implementation. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of loan disbursement data and qualitative insights from stakeholder interviews. The paper begins by providing a historical context of the PMMY, tracing its evolution and the policy landscape that necessitated its introduction. It then scrutinizes the objectives of the scheme, assessing its impact on job creation, economic growth, and the empowerment of marginalized sections of society. Through the analysis of loan disbursement data, the study aims to evaluate the geographical distribution of loans, sector-wise allocation, and the demographic profile of beneficiaries.
