For Deans, Associate Deans, and Chairpersons: Tips on Charting Pathways of Intellectual Leadership (CPIL) Implementation.
The suggestions in this document are based on several breakout meetings with department chairpersons and deans on the topic of CPIL implementation. CPIL is an umbrella approach for faculty and staff evaluation that encompasses both traditional and paradigm-shifting scholarship and other areas of work. All dossiers are "CPIL dossiers." Peer review refers to the review by experts in the relevant field(s) following the processes and criteria established by the unit in their unit bylaws and guidelines. While this document focuses on tenure-system evaluation, many of the aspects are also applicable or provide food for thought for faculty and staff evaluation of other appointment types.
