What Should a Translation Studies Textbook Be Like? The Issue about Electronic Textbooks and Hypertext
The article analyzes the feasibility and necessity of creating an electronic textbook for translatorics. It provides arguments to support the idea that such a textbook should have the form of hypertext as defined by Theodor H. Nelson. The main features of hypertext (infinity and interactivity) allow an unlimited number of people, including users, to participate in the creation of the textbook, to constantly add new information, to eliminate outdated data without breaking the textbook structure, as well as to gain the information that is requested by navigating not only within the textbook but also beyond its borders.
