The Caricatures of the Franco-Prussian War and the Paris Commune (1870-1871) donated by Frederick Justen to Cambridge University Library

Cambridge University Library holds six large volumes of around 1,100 illustrated plates entitled Collection de caricatures et de charges pour servir à l’histoire de la guerre et de la re´volution de 1870–1871 (KF.3.9-14). They have been digitised by Cambridge Digital Content Unit, with funding from Cambridge Digital Humanities, and are available through the Cambridge University Digital Library. This digitisation was enabled through a research project coinciding with the 150th anniversary of the Franco-Prussian War, focusing on collections of French and German caricatures produced at the time which were brought to the UK shortly after the war.
