The future of democracy in South Africa: final report

This the final report on the activities of the Future of Democracy project follows the midyear report of 16 September 2023 and the first-quarter report of 16 February 2023. While those reports are self-contained, the current report provides a synopsis of all the activities undertaken in the course of the project. The Developmental, Capable and Ethical State research division of the Human Sciences Research Council expresses its gratitude to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation for funding the Future of Democracy project – and in particular to its Minister, Dr Blade Nzimande, for his further commitment, expressed at the June 2023 colloquium, to supporting the establishment of the Legal Library – and to the members of the project’s Steering Committee representing the Ministry at the various meetings of the Steering Committee.
