Balancing Egoism and Altruism in Participant Compensation for Drug Clinical Trials
This paper explores the importance and complexity of compensation mechanisms for participants in drug clinical trials, emphasizing the need to protect participants' rights while balancing the interests of researchers, sponsors, and society. It analyzes the interests of all stakeholders and discusses the application and challenges of egoism and altruism in the design of compensation mechanisms. An integrated model is proposed, incorporating financial and non-financial compensation, risk-adjusted rewards, enhanced social recognition and a sense of honor, transparency in informed consent and compensation information, and continuous policy evaluation and dynamic adjustment. These strategies aim to establish a system that meets individual needs while upholding social responsibility, ensuring the efficient execution of clinical trials.
