Analysis and Implications of the Applications of Virtual Reality Technology in Sports Medicine in China and Abroad

Virtual reality (VR) technology is becoming increasingly widespread in sports medicine, especially in areas such as preoperative planning, surgical navigation, medical education, and rehabilitation training. However, due to factors such as the late start of the VR industry and the high cost of VR equipment, there is still a significant gap in the clinical and educational applications of VR in China. Additionally, China lags behind developed countries such as the United States in terms of hardware devices, software development, and policy support, which hinders the promotion of VR technology. To promote the adoption of VR technology in the field of sports medicine in China, it is recommended to accelerate technological development and application through policy incentives, financial support, domestic equipment research and development, and international cooperation, thus facilitating the comprehensive integration of VR technology in surgical training, rehabilitation, and other fields.
