Cooperative Localisation System Using Ultra-Wide Band and GPS
This paper presents a Cooperative Localization System (CLS) that integrates Ultra-Wideband (UWB) and Global Positioning System (GPS) technologies to elevate positioning accuracy. By capitalizing on UWB's precision and GPS's extensive coverage, the CLS excels in both indoor and urban settings. Employing a cooperative framework, UWB-equipped nodes collaborate by sharing ranging information to refine GPS-based position estimates. Experimental evaluations underscore substantial improvements in accuracy compared to standalone GPS and UWB systems. The CLS not only delivers enhanced accuracy but also offers scalability and reliability, rendering it well-suited for diverse applications such as asset tracking and group monitoring. This integration of UWB and GPS technologies in the CLS framework represents a significant advancement in localization systems, with wide-ranging implications for various fields requiring precise and dependable positioning solutions.
