Academic Integrity Inclusivity and Accessibility Assessment Tools (AIIA-AT)
In 2024, researchers at Bow Valley College, Canada critically reviewed the institution’s academic integrity system. The purpose of the research was to identify gaps in the academic integrity policy, procedure, and support utilizing four (4) frameworks: (1) equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI); (2) accessibility (Universal Design for Learning principles); (3) mental health; and (4) decolonization and Indigenization (Ferguson et al., 2024). Specialists in each focus area developed ways to assess academic integrity documents and practices from their unique perspectives. The Academic Integrity Inclusivity and Accessibility Assessment Tools (AIIA-AT) presented here are products of this research. AIIA-AT may be used by policy analysts and practitioners to assess academic integrity systems toward reforming policy, procedure, and support in these four areas. They may also assist in assessing teaching practices which may help identify faculty stressors and gaps in teaching support for administrators to address at their institutions.
