Catalytic Aerobic\nCarbooximation of Alkenes Using\nSecondary Nitroalkanes as Both α‑Nitro Alkyl Radical\nand Nitrogen Monoxide Sources
Aerobic nitro-nitrite isomerization of secondary nitroalkanes\nis\npostulated to proceed via the intermediacy of the α-nitro alkyl\nradical, where the corresponding Nef-type products, ketones, and nitrogen\nmonoxide can be obtained as byproducts. To explore the catalytic aerobic\ncarbooximation of alkenes using secondary nitroalkanes, phase-transfer\ncatalysis of KSeCN and TBAI has been developed. The current aerobic\ncarbooximation of alkenes utilizes nitroalkanes as both radical and\nnitrogen monoxide sources in water without external oxidants and prefunctionalized\nnitroalkanes.
