Photoinduced\nSingle Electron Transfer via EDA Complexation\nEnables Decarbonylative C(sp2)–S Bond Formation
We\nhave developed a photoinduced transition-metal-free\ndecarbonylative\nstrategy at ambient temperature through non-covalent interactions\nto achieve vinyl sulfones. Traditionally, decarbonylative functionalization\nis accomplished using transition metal catalysts at elevated temperatures.\nThe π–π interaction facilitates the elimination\nof CO to generate vinyl radical, thereby promoting the creation of\nC–S bonds with the sulfonyl radical. These interactions and\nthe overall process were illuminated by spectroscopic investigations\nand mechanistic studies.
