Graduate Students’\nTolerance of Habitual Risk-Taking\nBehaviors in Chemical-Related Majors: A Case Study
Considering the pivotal role of graduate\nstudents in\nlaboratory\nsafety, this work investigates the tolerance of habitual risk-taking\nbehaviors among first-year graduate students. The results showed that\nthe risk tolerance of graduate students in laboratory living habits\nis higher than that in personal protective equipment, safety operation\nregulations, and occupational exposure. In addition, there is a significant\npositive correlation between personal safety-related risk tolerance\nand laboratory-related risk tolerance. This work pays attention to\nsome habitual behaviors of graduate students in academic laboratories\nthat can lead to near-misses, incidents, and accidents. It reminds\nus to strengthen risk education concerning occupational exposure during\nregular and daily safety education and management.
