Copper-Catalyzed\nDifluoromethylation of Alkenyl Thianthrenium\nSalts
We have developed a novel and straightforward protocol\nthat facilitates\nthe transformation of alkenylsulfonium salts leading to the direct\nsynthesis of <i>E</i>-difluoromethylated alkenes. The success\nof this method relies on the use of copper catalysis and Vicic–Mikami\nreagent (DMPU)2Zn(CF2H)2. These mild\nprotocols offer the advantage of selectively synthesizing either aromatic\nor aliphatic difluoromethylated alkenes. Furthermore, our methodology\nextends to the perfluoroalkylation of alkenylsulfonium salts. Notably,\nthis approach is conducive to large-scale synthesis and holds promise\nfor diverse applications.
