Fluopyram-Loaded\nNanofibers Prepared by Coaxial and\nUniaxial Electrospinning for Nematicide-Efficient Utilization in Rhizosphere

The inefficient application and ineffective delivery\nof nematicides\non agriculture have caused serious waste of pesticides and environmental\npollution. In this study, biodegradable\ncellulose acetate was used as the carrier material to prepare two\nkinds of fluopyram (Flp)-loaded nanofibers by coaxial electrospinning\n(CA-CE@Flp) and uniaxial electrospinning (CA-UE@Flp), respectively.\nDuring the preparation of two Flp-loaded nanofibers, we deposited\nthem on the root of the plant. In the 45-day pot experiment, the root-protective\nfilms would release Flp to protect root from the Meloidogyne\nincognita infection. The control effects of CA-UE@Flp\nand CA-CE@Flp are 80% and 64%. In the distribution of Flp around the\nrhizosphere soil, the CA-CE@Flp with sustainable release property\nperformed the more uniform distribution of Flp, which led to the long-term\ncontrol effect against M. incognita and plant safety. CA-UE@Flp with high release efficiency can achieve\nshort-term disease prevention and control. The novel Flp-loaded nanofiber\nprecision application developed provides a new strategy for the green,\nsafe, and efficient application of nematicides and shows a great potential\nfor electrospinning fiber products on plant protection.

Abstract

The inefficient application and ineffective delivery\nof nematicides\non agriculture have caused serious waste of pesticides and environmental\npollution. It is urgent to develop new carriers for nematicides that\nare long-acting and environmentally friendly.
