Fe-Catalyzed\nStructurally Divergent γ‑Polyhaloalkylation\nof Siloxydienes

Regioselective γ-polyhaloalkylation is achieved\nusing tetrahalomethanes\nor α,α,α-trihaloalkyl compounds and siloxydienes\nvia Fe(II) catalysis. A range of siloxydienes are functionalized in\ngood yields with high stereoselectivity under mild reaction conditions.\nStructural divergence is observed as either haloalkylated or haloalkenylated\nproducts are formed on the basis of the substitution pattern of the\nsiloxydiene. The halogenated products show utility in further synthetic\ntransformations, selective reduction, and cross-coupling reactions.
