ZnO Nanoneedle-Based\nOrigami Water-Collecting Surfaces\nwith Bidirectional Janus Effects
We investigated the efficient water collection capabilities\nof\nJanus origami samples, focusing on their unique three-dimensional\nstructure and surface wettability. The origami design reduces the\nmist flow velocity and prolongs the residence time of water droplets\non the surface, improving the collection efficiency. The Janus effect\npromotes rapid transfer of water droplets between hydrophilic and\nhydrophobic regions, further optimizing the water absorption of the\nmist. The durability test confirmed that the pine needle-like nanoneedles\ncould provide stable and specific wettability to the water-collecting\nsamples and the samples could be used for a long period of time. Overall,\nthese findings highlight the effectiveness and durability of Janus\norigami structures for efficient fogwater collection applications.
