Multifunctional iRGD–Pt–Iodine–W18O49 Nanoparticles with Low Cisplatin-Induced Nephrotoxicity\nfor Gastric Cancer Theranostics
Multifunctional nanoparticles are able to achieve multiple\npurposes\nsuch as imaging and therapy simultaneously through modification with\nmultiple functional units and have significant advantages in cancer\ntheranostics. Among the multifunctional nanoparticles, W18O49 NP-mediated multimodality theranostics are restricted\nby their undesirable tumor selectivity. In this study, we develop\nmultifunctional iRGD–Pt–Iodine–W18O49 NPs (i–P–I–W) based on W18O49 NPs, which integrates computed tomography\n(CT) imaging, PA imaging, chemotherapy, photodynamic therapy (PDT),\nand photothermal therapy (PTT) properties in a single targeting manner.\nDue to the presence of an iRGD peptide, tungsten, and iodine, these\niRGD–Pt–Iodine–W18O49 NPs\nexhibit targeting contrasting ability for CT and PA imaging. Combined\nwith cisplatin, the iRGD–Pt–Iodine–W18O49 NPs display remarkable targeting synergistic antitumor\neffects in vitro and in vivo. Meanwhile, iRGD–Pt–Iodine–W18O49 NPs are capable of alleviating the cisplatin-induced\nnephrotoxicity at the administration dosage. Therefore, iRGD–Pt–Iodine–W18O49 NPs are expected to be used in targeting CT/PA\ndual-imaging guided side effects relieving chemotherapy/PDT/PTT multimodality\nprecise therapy of gastric cancer.
