Chiral Light–Matter Interactions with Thermal\nMagnetoplasmons in Graphene Nanodisks
We investigate the emergence of self-hybridized\nthermal magnetoplasmons\nin doped graphene nanodisks at finite temperatures upon being subjected\nto an external magnetic field. Using a semianalytical approach, which\nfully describes the eigenmodes and polarizability of the graphene\nnanodisks, we show that the hybridization originates from the coupling\nof transitions between thermally populated Landau levels and localized\nmagnetoplasmon resonances of the nanodisks. Owing to their origin,\nthese modes combine the extraordinary magneto-optical response of\ngraphene with the strong field enhancement of plasmons, making them\nan ideal tool for achieving strong chiral light–matter interactions,\nwith the additional advantage of being tunable through carrier concentration,\nmagnetic field, and temperature. As a demonstration of their capabilities,\nwe show that the thermal magnetoplasmons supported by an array of\ngraphene nanodisks enable chiral perfect absorption and chiral thermal\nemission.
