An 11-step synthesis of the octacyclic-fused dimeric\nphenylphenalenone\nanigorootin (phytoalexin in banana plants) is reported. The synthetic\nstrategy uses an electrochemical dimerization as the key step, which\nstereospecifically installs the four asymmetric centers.
