Electrochemical\nUmpolung α‑Alkoxylation\nof Thiophene-Containing Amides

Traditional methods of the α-oxidation of amides\noften require\npreactivation or umpolung of amides. In this study, we introduce a\ngeneral electrochemical approach for the direct α-C(<i>sp</i><sup>3</sup>)-H alkoxylation of thiophene-containing amides.\nThis mild and selective electrochemical method provides a modular\nand alternative efficient route to the highly valuable α-oxygenated\nthiophene-containing amide scaffolds.
