Novel Electrolytic\nRegeneration Method for Cyclic\nRegeneration of Ozone Decomposition MnO<i>x</i> Catalysts
The deactivation of ozone decomposition catalysts has\nbeen a bottleneck\nin their industrial application. As an efficient catalyst regeneration\nmethod, the liquid-phase method has attracted wide attention due to\nits operability and universality. However, the amount of waste liquid\ngenerated by the used regeneration liquid is a major drawback of its\napplication. Therefore, we propose an electrolytic regeneration method\nfor cyclic regeneration of MnO<i>x</i> ozone\ndecomposition catalysts by combining the advantages of the electrolytic\nprocess. In this method, NaNO2 solution is used to react\nwith O22– to efficiently regenerate the\ninactivated MnO<i>x</i> catalysts, while NO2– is oxidized to NO3–, and then the oxidized NO3– can be\nefficiently reduced to NO2– through the\nelectrolysis process at the cathode with an 88% Faraday efficiency,\nultimately realizing the recycling of the NO2–/NO3– regeneration solution. By this\nmethod, the regeneration of inactivated MnO<i>x</i> ozone catalysts can be realized only using electricity.
