Review on the sampling and analyzing techniques of bioaerosols
Several micro-organisms of various size ranges present in air are called airborne particles or bioaerosol which mainly includes live or dead fungi and bacteria, their secondary metabolites, viruses, pollens, etc. which have been related to health issues of human beings and other life stocks. In this paper, we report the methods for the sampling, determination and characterization of bioaerosol with a multidisciplinary approach. There are many measurement methods available to verify the presence of biological particles in the air at workplaces and to quantify them. The sampling of bioaerosols can be carried out by impaction on agar medium, by filtration of the air through a filter medium, but other methods for collecting microorganisms in a solution are available. Detection and quantification of microorganisms in samples can be performed through analytical methods used in microbiology
