L-34: HYDROPHOBIC CARBON QUANTUM DOTS AS ANTIMICROBIAL AGENT IN POLYMER COATINGS AND THEIR ECO-TOXICITY STUDY
This research explores the use of hydrophobic carbon quantum dots as an antimicrobial component in polymer coatings, focusing on their effectiveness against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Additionally, the study examines the eco-toxicity of these coatings, assessing their environmental impact on organisms like Porcellio scaber. Supported by Horizon Europe, SERI, and UKRI grants, this work highlights the potential for safe, antimicrobial applications in materials science.
