THE IMPACT OF ADVERTISING ON HIGHER EDUCATION MODELS: A STRATEGIC PERSPECTIVE
Advertisement in higher education refers to the strategic dissemination of information and promotional content by academic institutions aimed at attracting prospective students, enhancing institutional visibility, and building a strong brand identity within the educational sector. In an increasingly market-driven academic environment, universities and colleges are adopting advertising strategies traditionally associated with the corporate world to remain competitive and relevant. This study explores the impact of advertising on the structural, strategic, and operational models of higher education institutions.. In an increasingly competitive academic market, schools use aggressive marketing and branding strategies to attract students, sponsors, and money. This study examines the shift from traditional education models to market-oriented approaches, with a particular focus on student perspectives, institutional reputation, educational quality, and accessibility. The findings imply that, while advertisements increase visibility and enrollment, they also raise commercialisation issues and may impact academic priorities.
