SmartDC: A Multimodal Agentic AI for Real-Time City Discovery and Tourism Assistance in Washington, D.C.

SmartDC is an AI-powered multimodal assistant designed to provide Washington, D.C. residents and visitors with seamless access to essential information and public services through a single, intuitive interface. With the potential to scale globally, SmartDC aims to redefine how communities and travelers interact with local resources. The platform helps visitors easily discover museums, navigate transportation options, and find restaurants tailored to their specific preferences and requests—all without the need to download multiple apps. This project was born out of the need for smarter, more accessible, and community-centered solutions—especially for tourists who often struggle to locate relevant, localized information. SmartDC bridges the gap between advanced technology and real-world needs by offering a centralized, intelligent platform optimized for both urban living and travel.
