A Hypothesized Post-Stimulant Neurovascular-Psychosomatic Phenomenon Induced by Caffeine and Nicotine Combination: A Case-Based Report
This case-based report presents a self-experiment involving acute ingestion of 382 mg caffeine and 9 mg nicotine, resulting in a transient but distinct neurovascular and psychosomatic reaction. The subject experienced acute anxiety, tremor, derealization, photophobia, cold extremities, and a post-stimulant phase marked by fatigue, migraine-like headache, and vegetative instability. These symptoms differ from classic stimulant withdrawal and are proposed as a novel clinical model — the Post-Stimulant Neurovascular-Psychosomatic Phenomenon (PSSP). A hypothesized mechanism includes dopaminergic-cholinergic overstimulation, neuroinflammation, and hypothalamic-autonomic imbalance. The author proposes this report as a hypothesis-generating clinical observation requiring further validation.
