Stable hydrogen isotope signatures in tropical bat hair and the Asian isoscape: a dataset to advance regional migration research

General Description A dataset containing data necessary for constructing isotopes across Eurasia, Asia, and Southeast Asia. This includes .csv files, statistical models in .rda format, and raster files. Detailed information on data usage and content is provided in the associated publication with a similar title and authors. To reproduce the results presented in this paper and utilize the dataset, please refer to the following link.https://github.com/AdaChornelia/DD_Iso_MS Folders and Files : Main Folder : 1_Eurasia.zip, 2_Asia.zip, and 3_SoutheastAsia.zip Each of these folder contains all files necessary for reproducing isoscapes at the Eurasian, Asian and Southeast Asia scales. Data Files : Within each folder, you will find data files including: A. 1_EurasiaData, 1_AsiaData, 1_SoutheastAsiaData: File name : EuroIsoData_agg.csv, Asia_IsoData_agg.csv, SEA_IsoData_agg.csv This .csv file that contains aggregated stable hydrogen isotope data in precipitation sourced from the GNIP weather observation dataset. The dataset has been processed and formatted to meet the requirements of the IsoriX R package. Each row represents the mean and variance of isotope values obtained from one specific location over a time period. The column “source_ID” denotes the GNIP site identifier, “mean_source_value” provides the average stable hydrogen isotope value in precipitation across months and years. “var_source_value” indicates the the variance among monthly measurements across years, and “n_source_value” reflects the total number of observation. The columns “lat”, “long” and “elev” present the latitude, longitude and elevation for each site (source_ID), respectively. B. 2_EurasiaGeostatisticalModel, 2_AsiaGeostatisticalModel, 2_SoutheastAsiaGeostatisticalModel Each folders includes .rda files containing geostatistical models for each isoscape (EuroIso_Fit.rda, AsiaIso_Fit.rda, and SEA_Iso_Fit.rda). Additionally, we also provide .tiff files that display model performance (the fit of the residual dispersal variance and the fit of mean isotopic value). C. 3_EurasiaElevationRaster, 3_AsiaElevationRaster, 3_SoutheastAsiaElevationRaster Each folders contains raster (.tif) elevation file for its respective geographic region: (Eurasia, Asia and Southeast Asia). D. 4_EurasiaIsoscapeFiles, 4_AsiaIsoscapeFiles, 4_SoutheastAsiaIsoscapeFiles This folder contains raster files for the isoscape of each region (including mean isoscape, mean residual variance and mean predicted variance), which are compatible to read with any software for Geographic Information System (GIS).
