RESILIENCE IN OLD AGE: CONSTRUCTION OF ACTIVE-AGING SOCIAL REALITY IN THE NGORO INDUSTRIAL PARK (NIP) AREA

This study employs a qualitative approach based on Berger and Luckmann’s Social Reality Construction theory to identify social resilience in elderly groups in Ngoro Village and its suitability in the concept of active aging. This study addresses the social issue of elderly activity and the importance of fostering resilience in these groups. Social resilience in a more diverse group of elderly farmers in various fields, namely, economic, social, and health fields, shows the existence of a concept of self-autonomy. The positive response shown by factors external to the elderly (government, family, community) is supported. Therefore, the social resilience in the elderly group can be grouped into three main pillars of the active-aging concept, namely; Participation (elderly activities in the economic and social fields), health (family/cluster presence, integrated health post and elderly gymnastics, exercise on their own initiative), and security (BPJS, BPNT, PKH, and safe settlements).
