Kuvshinov F.V. Linguistic and poetic features of novel "Tyapkatan" by Tikhon Churilin

The novel “Tyapkatan, a Russian comedy (a chronicle of a city and its people)" by Tikhon Churilin is a vivid example of a provincial text, on the one hand, and a vivid example of a literary experiment, on the other. At the same time, it is almost unknown to the reader and is understudied within the framework of philology. At the same time, it represents an example of the evolution of Russian literary futuristic poetics (word creation, archaization of narrative, shocking) and is a complex work both in terms of architecture, genre, and literary monument about pre- and post-revolutionary Russia, as well as in terms of its linguistic and poetic aspect. The article analyzes the linguopoetic features of the novel and concludes that they are conditioned by the author's intention concerning its artistic, declamatory reciting and even stage embodiment.
