Emergent Photon and Spacetime Reaction Model
This paper proposes a reinterpretation of the photon as an emergent geometric disturbance in spacetime, rather than a massless particle. The model is grounded in the existing mathematical framework of quantum electrodynamics (QED) and general relativity, preserving their predictive power while offering a more coherent ontological foundation. A photon is described as a localized ripple in spacetime geometry generated by quantum state transitions, with energy emerging from the universe's geometric resistance to change. Redshift is reframed as a natural evolution of these disturbances in dynamic spacetime, rather than an unexplained loss of energy by particle-like objects. A formal mathematical structure is developed, including a modified spacetime metric, a relation to the electromagnetic field tensor, and an integral formulation of energy quantization. The model generates testable predictions, including potential deviations in photon behavior near gravity wells, curvature-dependent Casimir effects, and nonlinear optical responses at high intensities. While this paper focuses on electromagnetic interactions, it suggests broader applicability to gravitational phenomena and quantum measurement theory, which will be addressed in future work. This model aims to provide a more intuitive interpretation of quantum field behavior while maintaining alignment with observable physics.
