RISK FACTORS FOR THE PATHOMORPHISM OF GUILLAIN-BARRÉ SYNDROME
Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) is one of the most severe diseases of the peripheral nervous system, requiring full resuscitation measures, including artificial ventilation, in every fifth case (Piradov, 2003). At the same time, GBS has a number of unique features: it is an acquired autoimmune disease, which is characterized by a monophasic self-limiting course and a favorable prognosis with proper treatment. In this regard, GBS should be given special attention by physicians, researchers, and health managers.
