Economic Evaluations of Implementation Strategies in Health and Social Care Settings: a Scoping Review Protocol
Despite the rapid growth of implementation science, economic evaluations of implementation strategies in health and social care remain limited, with fewer than 10% of studies including comparative economic analyses. Existing reviews have highlighted the scarcity of economic evaluations and the lack of standardized methodologies for assessing implementation costs and reporting them alongside health and implementation outcomes. Given the growing need for cost-effective strategies to enhance the adoption of evidence-based interventions, a comprehensive understanding of economic evaluations of implementation strategies is essential. This scoping review aims to identify, compare, and assess the methodological quality of economic evaluations of implementation strategies in health and social care settings.
