ROLE PLAY WORLD COMMUNITY: EXPLORING THE ANONYMOUS SIDE OF THE INTERNET

This study explores Role Play World (RPW), an anonymous online community in the Philippines, through interviews with five users aged 16–18. It reveals how anonymity encourages self-expression and highlights the online disinhibition effect, showing why people share thoughts online they might withhold in real life. Dedicated to the memory of Levy Mae, whose inspiration shaped this research.
