Classroom Climate: Investigating the Influence of Temperature and Environmental Factors on Learning Outcomes in the Hot and Warm Environment of Vidarbha, Maharashtra

This study examines the impact of environmental factors, particularly high temperatures, on student learning in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, known for its hot climate. The research explores how prolonged exposure to extreme heat affects cognitive performance and retention. A survey of 700 students from 10 urban and rural schools analyzes academic achievements under different classroom conditions. Findings indicate that temperatures exceeding 40°C reduce concentration, cognitive efficiency, and academic performance, especially in poorly ventilated classrooms. The study highlights the need for improved infrastructure in hot regions to create conducive learning environments, contributing to research on climate-related educational challenges.
