A Stronger Generalization of the Riemann Functional Equation
A generalization of the Riemann functional equation that has a broader validity domain than the one available in the literature is introduced. The insight that led to this new relation came from a new formula for the zeta function created herein that implies the Riemann functional equation. Further developments that stem from new formulae introduced previously are also discussed. PS I find it absolutely disgraceful that this paper was rejected by the arxiv. The arxiv has some really messed up approach to paper moderation: arcane, secretive, non-transparent, inconsistent and even authoritarian. It was originally supposed to be just a preprint repository but it has become too presumptuous ever since, like they are the final judge of mathematical ideas. Maybe I'm too ignorant or clumsy and didn't check carefully if this result already existed in the literature, because being deja-vu is the only acceptable justification for this finding to be dismissed as unworthy. Other than that it definitely has value. [I've probably been blacklisted -- and I do admit that I have tried to upload heterodox papers in the past (the RH), but will I be punished forever for a one time mistake?] Btw, someone has pointed out that there is an easier solution, in hindsight, that can be used to derive this new generalization. It only matters if someone has used that same logic to come up with the formula before it was published! The new formula can also be dismissed as deja-vu if the result already existed in the literature, but in no other case. Coming up with easier ways to deduce a formula (which relies on the formula itself after it's known) is not how problems are solved. You only got the insight because you saw the new formula. PS I've found a way to get rid of the imaginary part, expect an update soon.
