Cloud-Based Distributed File Storage System with Enhanced Security and Privacy
The widespread deployment of cloud computing has transformed data storage and accessibility but security and privacy issues continue to be paramount concerns. This paper introduces a Cloud Based Distributed File Storage System intended to address unauthorized access, data breaches, and single points of failure. The system promotes data confidentiality by dividing files into three fragments and encrypting them using distinct cryptographic algorithms (AES, 3DES, and RC6). The encrypted fragments are separately stored in multiple cloud service providers—Amazon S3, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Azure Blob Storage. When a file is accessed, the system reads, decrypts, and reassembles the fragments to restore the original file. This multi-cloud design coupled with hybrid encryption provides better data integrity, availability, and redundancy. The novelty is in its distributed encryption-storage mechanism, which minimizes exposure to cyber threats while improving reliability.
