TOPONYMIC INFORMATION IN "BABUR NAMA": A LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL ANALYSIS
This dissertation explores the rich toponymic information in Baburnama, the memoirs of Zahiruddin Muhammad Babur, the founder of the Mughal Empire. The study examines the lexical-semantic features, pragmatic functions, and historical significance of toponyms in the text through a linguistic and cultural lens. By analyzing the geographical names, their origins, and their roles in reflecting the socio-political and cultural contexts of Babur's time, this research highlights the importance of Baburnama as a historical and linguistic resource. The study also investigates the challenges of translating these toponyms and their implications for understanding Central Asian and South Asian history.
