Dynamic Analysis Of Honey Comb Structure
A honeycomb structure is a geometric arrangement of hexagonal cells, similar to the pattern foundina beehive. In engineering and materials science, honeycomb structures are typically composedoflightweight materials arranged in a hexagonal grid, creating a rigid and strong structure withminimalmaterial usage. These structures are known for their high strength-to-weight ratio, makingthemadvantageous in various applications. Materials like aluminum, composites, and even paper canbeshaped into honeycomb structures. The design mimics the efficiency seen in natural honeybeehives, wherehexagonalcellsprovide strengthandstability withminimal use ofresources.Inthis,weareanalysingtheperforationofcompositesandwichstructuresunderhigh-velocityimpact.we areusing a three-dimensional finite element model modelled in Creo and implementing in Ansystosimulate sandwich panels with carbon/epoxy skins and an aluminium honeycomb core. Thisproject aims to provide insights into the present and future prospects ofcompositesandwichstructuressubjected to high-velocity impact.
