Water-Energy Nexus How Renewable Energy Sources Are Improving Water Treatment and Distribution
Abstract Water and energy are deeply interconnected, as significant amounts of energy are required for water treatment and distribution, while water is needed for energy production. Traditional water management systems rely heavily on fossil fuels, making them unsustainable and environmentally damaging. This paper explores how renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydropower, and bioenergy are transforming water treatment and distribution systems. It highlights various real-world applications, technological innovations, and the benefits of integrating renewable energy into water management. Finally, the study examines challenges, future prospects, and potential policy interventions to enhance sustainability in the water-energy nexus
