LINGUISTIC REDUNDANCY AS AN INFORMATION DISTRIBUTION PRINCIPLE IN LITERARY TEXTS
. This article explores the phenomenon of linguistic redundancy in literary discourse as a fundamental mechanism for information organization and distribution. Synthesizing theoretical frameworks from communication theory, linguistics, cognitive science, and stylistics, the study identifies redundancy not as excess, but as a functional and structural strategy. Based on conceptual and contextual analysis of Katherine Mansfield’s short story “The Daughters of the Late Colonel”, the paper illustrates how redundancy enhances semantic cohesion, reinforces emotional and psychological motifs, and guides reader interpretation.
