CYTOKINE STATUS OF PREMATURE NEWBORNS WITH DISORDERED INTESTINAL MICROBIOME
Thus, the study of the cytokine status in premature infants demonstrated an increase in the content of IL-1β in the main groups in relation to healthy newborns. IL-10 was also increased by 1.4 times in comparison with the control values. This condition is explained by premature birth, functional immaturity of the immune system and hyperactivation of protective and adaptive mechanisms in premature infants, but in parallel it acts as a diagnostic marker of the systemic inflammatory response. Newborns with elevated IL-1β concentrations were included in the high-risk group for sepsis and received additional antibacterial therapy.
