C.L.I.N.C.H. — Controlled Laminar Shear for INtegumentary Closure with Hemostatic Film
The CLINCH system is a novel wound-closure device that employs controlled superficial laminar shear of the epidermis (50–150 µm depth) combined with deposition of a biodegradable hemostatic biogel. This creates a lap-joint seal without sutures or staples, minimizing trauma, sealing sterility, and supporting rapid healing. The device integrates a hybrid actuation system (voice-coil + piezo stack), micro-patterned silicone pads, and fibrin–collagen or chitosan gel films. A micro-lattice sealing pattern enhances strength and burst resistance. The supplementary document outlines bench validation tests, porcine tissue assays, and cyclic flexion evaluations. Together with the included bibliography, this package establishes prior art for the CLINCH system and provides an open-science foundation for collaboration and grant development.
