Limnesia (Limnesia) iberica Lundblad 1954

Limnesia (Limnesia) iberica Lundblad, 1954 Material examined. Portugal, Beja • Mértola, São João dos Caldeireiros, stream, 37.626°N, 7.81°W, 17 May 2023, leg. Ferreira, Benitez-Bosco, Ekrem, Stur & Turaccio, 3 ♂, 6 ♀ (sequenced). Remarks. The specimens from Portugal morphologically matches description of Limnesia iberica, a species originally described by Lundblad (1956) from a stream in Beira Alta (Santa Comba Dão, Portugal). The Portuguese specimens form a distinct BIN (BOLD: AFN 8367) with the closest BIN being BOLD: ACA 9272, which includes specimens from Canada, United States, and Greece assigned to L. undulata, with the p - distance estimated at 14.29 %. Distribution. Portugal (Lundblad 1954, 1956; this study).
