Code to run ARDL analysis between unseasonal land type change and fossil fuel carbon emissions

The files hosted on this Zenodo page are used to conduct the analysis needed for the research article “Global Decarbonization Corresponding with Unseasonal Land Cover Change”. 1. carbonmonitor-global_datas_2024-03-04.csvThis dataset contains the real-time global carbon dioxide emissions data compiled by Carbon Monitor. The file includes country-level and sector-specific CO₂ emissions, updated to March 4, 2024. 2. land_cover_vs_carbon_emissions_analysis.mThis MATLAB script implements the ARDL modeling procedure to explore the relationship between real-time land type changes and carbon emissions. It includes data preprocessing steps, model specification, lag order selection, and diagnostics. Users can adapt this script to test other land-use datasets or emissions inventories. 3. LULC_Areas.xlsxThis Excel file provides spatial and temporal data on Land Use/Land Cover (LULC) areas. The dataset captures changes in major land cover categories (e.g., forest, urban, cropland) over time. This file is used in conjunction with the carbon emissions dataset to evaluate the impact of unseasonal land type change on emissions trends. 4. process_DW.js This script is used to process raw Dynamic World data in Google Earth Engine. The code extracts time series of 9 LULC types with a 5-day resolution and exports them as CSV files. The country and date range provide examples that users can change according to their needs.
