Dark Matter as Cosmic Standing Waves: A Harmonic Interpretation of Galactic Structures
We propose that the gravitational effects attributed to dark matter arise naturally from extremely low-frequency standing electromagnetic waves spanning galactic and larger cosmic scales. In this model, the energy density of overlapping harmonics generates smooth gravitational potentials that match observed dark matter distributions, including flat galactic rotation curves and core-like density profiles. The allowed modes are bounded by the cosmic scale and the Planck length, tuning the universal resonator through Planck’s quantum constant h. This framework provides a unified, observationally compatible alternative to exotic particle hypotheses and connects large-scale cosmic structures with quantum mechanical principles.
