NATO's Historical March: A Structure Rising Over the Cost of Humanity
The first half of the 20th century stands as one of the most tragic periods in human history. Approximately 20 million people perished in World War I, and nearly 70 million lives were lost in World War II. These deaths occurred not only on the frontlines but also in cities, along migration routes, and in concentration camps, leaving indelible scars in the collective memory of humanity. The systematic genocide carried out by Nazi Germany resulted in the deaths of approximately 6 million Jews and hundreds of thousands of people from various ethnic and political groups. This brutality led to the establishment of the Nuremberg Trials and the redefinition of international law within the framework of crimes against humanity.
