Entropy, Expansion, and the Arrow of Surface
This paper presents a geometric explanation for the arrow of time and entropy increase, grounded in the irreversible dynamics of closed φ-surface propagation and collapse. In this framework, space and time emerge from recursive surface regeneration, and entropy is reinterpreted as the cumulative geometric complexity caused by irreversible interference and deformation. Unlike statistical mechanics, which attributes the second law to probabilistic ensembles, this model derives temporal asymmetry from topological changes in surface structures. Destructive interference and surface collapse lead to information loss and irretrievable deformations—"scars"—within the φ-field. As a result, time flows forward due to the unidirectional sequence of regeneration and the non-reversibility of surface events. This approach unifies thermodynamic irreversibility, entropy, and the directionality of time under a common geometric origin.
